Top Ten Favourite Kick-Ass Heroines
This weeks Top Ten Tuesday is about our favourite heroines, god there are so many to choose from!
1. Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Buffy was my obvious choice for this! She looks so sweet and innocent but don't mess with her. She is The Slayer, meaning she is incredibly strong and can easily kick some undead ass. She's killed the Master, the Judge and even her own boyfriend on occasion, so no one is safe.
2. Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games)
Katniss is another pretty obvious choice. She's been providing her family with meat for years, and is deadly with a bow and arrow. She survives the Hunger Games not only once, but twice and starts a rebellion that breaks apart society.
3. Willow Rosenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Even at the beginning of the series when Willow was just Buffy's geeky friend Willow was still somewhat awesome. She is a total genius, but is still willing to fight to help her friends. When she becomes a Witch Willow becomes even more amazing, super powerful and out for revenge if you hurt the ones she loves.
4. Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)
Hermione reminds me of Willow a lot actually. She is intelligent and loyal, but will never back down from a fight. She will be there for her friends no matter how bad the situation, and her intelligence saves lives far more times than brute strength.
5. Dr River Song (Doctor Who)
The kick-ass wife of The Doctor who is incredibly handy with a gun, need I say more.
6. Scarlett March (Sisters Red)
I love Scarlett from Sisters Red. She's out for revenge against the Fenris that destroyed her family, and is desperately trying to keep her sister safe. She's pretty good with her hatchet to.
7. Ramona Flowers (Scott Pilgrim)
Any girl that pulls a massive hammer out of her tiny subspace bag during the middle of a fight is kick-ass in my opinion.
8. Amy Pond (Doctor Who)
Amy was my favourite Doctor Who companion and I loved how she didn't play the damsel in distress. She took on the Daleks, the Cybermen, the Weeping Angels, the Silence, pirates and got stuck in the Pandorica. Was definitely sad to see her go.
9. Lexi Harris(The Near Witch)
Lexi took on the terrifying Near Witch to save her sister, even though the rest of her village didn't believe her.
10. Cinder (Cinder - The Lunar Chronicles)
I'll admit I haven't finished Cinder yet, but I already think Cinder's character is amazing! Can't wait to see how she develops throughout the series.
So those are my favourite kick-ass heroines, what are yours?

This is a fantastic list! These heroines definitely kick some ass! I also like the girls from Firefly. They all kick ass in their own way.
ReplyDeleteI am ashamed to say that I have never seen Firefly (I know, I need to rectify this soon!) Thanks :)
DeleteGreat list! Cinder's a fairly popular pick today, too. I've GOT to read that! :D My TTTs are at Musings on Fantasia and LKHill. Happy Tuesday! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks :) As I said I'm not that far through Cinder, but I'm loving it already!
DeleteI love this list, there's some great heroines in there! I particularly love the top 4 :)
ReplyDeleteThanks :) Yeah, can't have a list without those four!
DeleteI'm embarrassed that I forgot Hermione Granger! I should be ashamed of myself. Great list!
ReplyDeleteRamona Flowers is a great choice! I never would have thought of her...but probably because I've only read a little bit of the comic book.
ReplyDelete...and now I want to rewatch the movie. :D
You obviously hate Dr. Who and Buffy. So much. lol.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite kickass Buffy heroine is Anya. She's so great, although admittedly less ass-kickery than Buffy or Willow.
I haven't watched nearly enough Dr. Who, I'm ashamed to say, so I don't know either of those ladies. Nerd fail!
Heck yes, Scarlett!
Nice list! I also added Katniss and Hermione. I want to read Cinder but keep putting it off.
ReplyDeleteNew follow.
Alise - My TTT Post
I have to agree with Katniss and Hermione, since they're two of my favourite characters. I love when female characters are strong and tough, but have a vulnerable side too. Plus I absolutely love action, and both their lives are action packed!
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of these. :) Haven't read Cinder yet, but it's on my list!
ReplyDeleteI love your list and I love you mentioned heroines from Doctor Who and Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well as books, I especially love River Song.
ReplyDeleteRiver Song is awesome! I love her relationship and history with the Doctor. Maybe not the whole Amy/Melody plot but still she's been an awesome character from the start. =D
ReplyDeleteExcellent list of heroines! :D
ReplyDeleteThis list is a reminder that I have not been reading as much as I should! I only recognize a few. Good post, though.
